A Team You Can Trust to Build it Right

Clear communication, high-quality work, and a team you’ll actually enjoy having on site.

Top Drawer Construction is an intentional team building homes in Durango and the surrounding areas with a focus on quality, clarity, and trust.

We take on a limited number of projects so we can stay hands-on, detail-oriented, and accountable from start to finish. From ground-up custom homes, remodels, additions, and select commercial work, our focus is always the same: do the job right, communicate clearly, and deliver something that holds up for years to come.

Clients come to us because they want a team they can rely on—people who show up, follow through, and care about the outcome as much as they do.

We’re builders who solve problems, keep things moving, and make sure the process stays as smooth and straightforward as possible. We live here, raise our families here, and care about the work we leave behind in this community. Your project isn’t just another job—and we treat it that way.

Top Drawer Construction is led by Teague Anderson, a Colorado native who’s been working in construction since 2010.

After studying English and Journalism at the University of Colorado Boulder, Teague found his way into the trades and never looked back. Over the years, he’s worked every role on a job site—from laborer to project manager—gaining a full understanding of what it takes to deliver a well-run project at any scale.

In 2020, Teague and his wife Derya moved to Durango to build a life rooted in the outdoors and community. They’re now raising their two kids Esme and Axel here.

Teague has worked on everything from elaborate remodels to multi-million dollar custom homes and that range shows up in how he approaches each project: practical, thoughtful, and tailored to the client.

He built Top Drawer to reflect how he believes construction should feel—organized, transparent, and genuinely enjoyable to be part of.

Bob was the first employee at Top Drawer and plays a critical role behind the scenes.

Originally from the San Diego area, he moved to Colorado in the mid-90s and eventually settled in Durango after years on the Front Range. Before joining Top Drawer, Bob owned and operated a FastSigns business in Boulder, bringing strong experience in business operations, estimating, and project coordination.

Today, he leads estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and logistics—working closely with clients during site visits and ensuring every project is set up to run smoothly. From detailed estimates to timelines and ordering, Bob keeps everything moving and aligned.

Dylan Wanta | Project Manager, Field Operations

Dylan is the bridge between clients and the job site, ensuring everything runs as it should day-to-day.

He started in the trades at 19, building water tanks for government projects and has been working with his hands ever since. Originally from the LA area, he later moved to Salt Lake City before landing in Durango to raise his family.

Dylan brings a sharp eye for detail, strong communication skills, and a natural ability to connect with both clients and crews. He’s often the one on site making sure the work aligns with the vision while keeping things efficient and on track.

Outside of work, he crafts custom knives under Wantaforge, and has a deep interest in geology and American history—interests that reflect his appreciation for materials, process, and precision.

Colton Walters

Colton Walters, Craftsman

Colton grew up in the industry building homes alongside his dad, an architect and builder, from a young age.

A Colorado native from Buena Vista, he brings both technical skill and a creative mindset to the team. Outside of work, he builds large-scale installations for Burning Man and DJs locally in Durango.

Colton has a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and is currently honing his skills at tile work—a trade that’s becoming increasingly rare. His attention to detail and pride in the work show up in every finish he touches.
